About Brad

My name is Bradley J. Green — a multi-instrumental session musician, music educator, and mentor with over 20 years of experience in performance, education, and creative development.

Whether you want to learn to play, write your own songs, understand music theory, or become your own producer — I’d love to hear what you’re wanting to explore.

Thanks for reading — I can’t wait to work with you.

My journey in music began early: drums at age 10, saxophone at 11, guitar at 12 with many afternoons spent playing along to my father’s favourite records.

I followed this passion through high school and into formal training, eventually earning a Bachelor, and Master of Music. I’m currently considering pursuing a PhD.

As my studies progressed, so did my career. By day, I was teaching in secondary schools; by night, gigging as a professional musician. That balance of practice and pedagogy shaped my approach to music — practical, immersive, and always evolving.

My path took me around the world, including a formative year performing in the United Arab Emirates. Leading a band on vocals and guitar, singing four sets a night, six nights a week, I sharpened my performance skills and deepened my cultural understanding. That experience ignited a hunger that brought me back to Australia energised and inspired.

Back in Melbourne, I was fortunate to tour and record with some of the country’s best-known artists, expanding my skillset in studios, on stages, and in collaborative spaces. Over time, I added bass guitar, piano/keys, synthesisers, ukulele, banjo, and pedal steel to my repertoire — along with a growing interest in music production and creative writing.

My academic work has reflected my performance journey. My Master’s focused on gospel guitar styles and culminated in a documentary titled The Backward Picking Technique, available on YouTube. That project was a deep dive into the sounds I had lived and worked with, especially during my time performing in a gospel band influenced by artists like The Winans, Fred Hammond, and Kirk Franklin.

In 2020 the COVID-19 lockdowns in Melbourne brought the live music scene to a halt. In that pause, I found myself working at the Parkville Youth Remand Centre as a staff member of Parkville College — a school dedicated to educating young people in the youth justice system. This role reshaped me profoundly.

The intensity of that environment — where trauma-informed, culturally sensitive education was critical — challenged and changed me. I worked with students across two very different spectrums: some deeply vulnerable, others requiring high levels of individual care and support. Those 16 months were transformative, and I carry the lessons with me to this day.

I left Melbourne in 2021 and reconnected with live performance. I  moved to Brisbane, and become involved in creative community while working with NDIS participants helping them to explore music as a creative and therapeutic outlet.

Today, I’m based in North Brisbane, where I’ve brought everything together: my years on stage, in the studio, in classrooms, and in diverse communities. I offer a supportive and inclusive space for people of all skill levels to explore their creativity — through instruments, songwriting, production, or performance.

Whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine your craft, my aim is to go beyond just teaching “an instrument.” I help people open the door to understanding music as a whole — not just as players, but as producers, artists, and creators. Music becomes a pathway to expression, empowerment, and even entrepreneurship.
